Ok, If you found this page you are looking for what is new and going to happen in the future.

First Contrail Rockets is coning out with a new product called the “Contrail Nickel Vortex Adapter”  What it is and what is does is amazing and while back in 2004 and Contrail Rockets came out with a 75 mm M 2281 and the most powerful Hybrid at the time was a 98 mm M 1040 times are changing.  Yes We did Make the O 6300 and have had many great -1 (My Level 3) flights with this motor.  Back the the “CNVA” it is like putting a Turbo Charger in a Contrail Rockets Motor.  Faster ignitions than we already have and more complete burning of the fuel grain.

I am working on a 12 volt resistor ignition required for the small nozzle size of the 29 mm motor.  I may convert all of my small single injector motors to this method of ignition.  If so I will be coming out with a new GSE for low power motors while keeping my existing 24 volt system for my motor aggressive motors.  Lighting the O 27000 with 13 “CNVA” injectors will require 13 igniters.

29 mm will be the first motor line to have the “CNVA the 29 mm line will have a PVC threaded fuel grains similar to the 38 mm motor line but with some major changes.  Finer threads more surface area with shorter grains for more NOS to grain ratio so more fuel is consumed. The fuel grain sizes of 4 inch 6 inch and 8 inch for the 12 inch 22 inch and 36 inch motors.  Testing has yet to be completed before sending off to TMT and they will have an XSlow and Slow Nozzle.

38 mm will be the second motor line to have the “CNVA” added and existing flyers will be able to buy adapters to install in existing hardware to get the added performance.  The First set of certifications will be for the HP fuel and will cover the all tank sizes and all motor speeds.  Note While I love the J 800 very few flyers have been able to build a rocket to stand up to the initial thrust of that motor with the “Contrail Nickel Vortex Adapter” I have a J 1200 planned  with a burn time under a second I don’t know anyone who will fly it I just want to show what a 38 mm hybrid motor can do.

54 mm will be the third motor line to have the “CNVA” added and existing flyers will be able to buy adapters to install in existing hardware to get the added performance.  The First set of certifications will be for the Black Smoke fuel which has not been certified in the 54 mm line and will cover the all tank sizes and all motor speeds.  I have a single injector and a triple 1/8 pipe injector and have fired a triple 1/4 pipe 3/8 injector motor which is equivalent to a K 2400 that was prior to the “Contrail Nickel Vortex Adapter”  I do not know If I can get a K 3600 out of a 48 inch 54 mm motor but using Black Smoke Fuel which has my highest ISP plus the “CNVA”

75 mm Hybrid Motor using a 48 inch 4250 cc tank will be the M 6000 Black Smoke using the “Contrail Nickel Vortex Adapter” on an XXFast Nozzle  with the new grain design it might be able to get it to exceed the 2850 initial thrust of the O 6300
